+ Elan McDowell Named Creative Director for ThermaFu (02/04/2013 - 22:16:08)
|
As Creative Director I will serve as the lead artist for all ThermaFuse shows nationwide, train and format educational programs for platform artist teams and regional educators as well as developing events for distributors. I am so excited to launch the ThermaFuse's spring/summer and fall/winter 2013 hair trends at the Premier Orlando International Beauty Event in June.
I look forward to contributing to the ongoing growth of the brand and working closely with the ThermaFuse team.

I'm pleased to announce the first in an upcoming schedule of education classes for 2013.
Studio Elan was recently voted best hair salon in New Canaan by readers of Patch.com
More dates have been added to my fall education programme. If you're a newly qualified hairdresser or a professional hairdresser wanting to brush up on your techniques go to www.elanmcdowell.com for further details.
As well as being a master stylist and salon owner I'm also and educator and consultant within the hair care industry.
The four day celebration for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee has sadly to come to an end. It was amazing to see all the flags flying.

The Daily New Canaan Post has a lovely review of the Studio by writer Meaghan Morelli:
Vidal Sasson, the legendary stylist who revolutionised the hair dressing industry died today of natural causes after a battle with leukaemia.
Last night saw the glam fest which is the annual Met Gala Costume Institute Ball. Whilst the clothing was a riot of color, sequins, feathers and dramatic statements (or all of the above in Beyonce's case!) the hair was simplicity itself. Clean, classic lines and swept back hair - all the better to see dress my dear. Blondes in champagne hues were of course prevalent on the red carpet but what stood out were the richer bourbon tones which screamed luxury above the already well-heeled atmosphere.
Worthy of a mention: Chanel Iman's elegant bouffant and Karolina Kurkova's stunning gold head dress. But hair award of the night belongs to Jessica Biel's blunt heavy fringe and deep espresso color. Dressed in Prada, and accessorized with Justin Timberlake she made quite the entrance.

If you want to take a closer look at the studio, I've added some photos to my new dedicated Studio Elan facebook page. I hope you like them!
Not quite! But as I'm teaching my New to the Floor Class in Milford, MA Studio Elan will be closed on Tuesday 1st May, but it will re-open Wednesday 2nd May.

The end of April sees my two day New to the Floor educational class come to Rocky Hill at ESP. Spaces are already sold out, but keep checking back for our schedules for summer and fall.
Welcome to Studio Elan.
