ELAN MCDOWELL

With twenty-five years behind the chair and more than a decade spent as an educator, national platform artist and artistic director, Elan McDowell has studied under the greats and trained a few herself. As a successful salon owner and stylist in New Canaan, CT, Known throughout the industry as a precision hair cutter, Elan believes that a foundational knowledge of the classic cutting techniques arms and inspires young stylists and defines creative expression in experienced ones.

Elan now brings her world-class educational program to Connecticut in one-day, hands-on, workshops at Studio Elan, New Canaan. Each workshop has a maximum of 8 students and begins with a demonstration and lecture followed by step-by-step cutting instruction with provided mannequins. The classes take place in a lively and supportive environment designed for maximum hands-on learning and one-on-one teaching.
